NAKKAPALLI PORT(Captive Port)

• Govt declared Nakkapalli as minor Port vide Govt GO.MS.NO 9 I&I Dept dt 7-08-10 as minor port as per the request made by M/S Anrak alumina ltd.
• Location of jetty is near Dondavaka villege in Nakkapalli Mandalam and it is 29 KM from ANRAK Aluminium limited refinery and 6KM from NH5 and 8 KM from South Central Railway. The nearest railway Station is at Narsipatnam.
• The proposed port is 75 km from Visakhapatnam, 55 KM from Gangavaram Port and 100 KM from Kakinada Port.
• Initial proposels are to construct 2 Nos Berths

  • Berth No 2: To handle thermal coal etc...

Features of the Project:

• Two Break waters, dredging of the channel and turning circle upto (-)14 Mts and depth in front of the berth is (-)12 Mts, Navigational aids, Fire fighting equipments etc...
• The estimated cost of the jetty is 479 Crores.
• Period of completion is 24 months from land acquisition and Environmental clearances.
• The cargo handling projection is 4.0MLTA includes exports and imports.
