KALINGAPATNAM PORT

    The port is situated at latitude 18°19’ North and longitude 84°08’ East on the southern bank of the estuary of river Vamsadhara near its confluence with the sea and is about 45 nautical miles to the north east of Visakhapatnam. It has a good linkage to the road network of the state.

DEVELOPMENT POTENTIAL

The port can be developed as lighterage and fisheries port. The development works needed would include construction of short breakwater, creation of navigation channel, construction of wharf, shore facilities and providing of lighterage fleet. It is suited for development of a good deep water, all weather port.
